Three Jaguars Named NFCA Cal JC All-Americans, Highlighting Stellar 2025 Season
San José City College's softball program continues to shine as three standout athletes earn national recognition on the 2025 NFCA Cal JC All-America teams.
San José City College (SJCC) proudly celebrates the achievements of three exceptional student-athletes who have been named to the 2025 NFCA Cal JC All-America teams, as announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) on May 7, 2025. This prestigious honor underscores the Jaguars' impressive 32-7 season and their No. 5 seed in the 3C2A North Region playoffs.
Evangelina Chavarria
A dual-threat on the field, Chavarria's remarkable performance earned her the Joan Joyce Utility Pitcher award and the title of 3C2A North Player of the Year. In the circle, she posted a 19-7 record with a 1.75 ERA, striking out 80 batters and maintaining a 1.16 WHIP. At the plate, she boasted a .464 batting average, driving in 37 RBIs, hitting 14 doubles, and launching 6 home runs.
DJ Martinez
As the team's reliable catcher, Martinez contributed significantly to the Jaguars' success. She achieved a .300 batting average, with 7 doubles and 26 RBIs, showcasing her offensive prowess and defensive skills behind the plate.
Maai Ulu
Anchoring first base, Ulu demonstrated consistent offensive production throughout the season. She recorded a .315 batting average, with 6 doubles and 23 RBIs, playing a crucial role in the Jaguars' formidable lineup.
