Bio

The 2024-25 season will be Coach Covell’s second season as an assistant coach. In addition to his 20 years of experience as a collegiate basketball head coach, he serves as the Academic Advisor for the San José City College Athletic Department, assisting all student-athletes with their class schedules and athletic eligibility. His head coaching experience includes positions at Cal Maritime Academy (NAIA) and Holy Names University (NCAA II).

A native of Sebastopol, California, Covell played collegiate basketball and graduated from Holy Names College with a BA in Liberal Arts. He also holds an MA in Kinesiology from Saint Mary’s College of California. He and his wife, Marcie, have a daughter and reside in the East Bay.
