Jaguars Track Team Has Successful Season Under First-Year Coach Justin Ta
First-year head coach Justin Ta and his staff wasted no time in preparing his team for the season 22-23 outdoor season. The Jaguars had three athletes qualify for the NorCal Championships; Kelly Evans (San Jose, Leigh HS), Pole Vault, Daniel Morales (Colegio Especializado En Atletas De Alta Compentencia), Pole Vault, and Coleone Smith (Fresno, Edison HS) 110 Hurdles. Daniel qualified for the state championships but fell just short of making the podium.
Early in the season, Taylor Witana (San Jose, Westmont HS) qualified in both the Pole Vault and the 100-meter Hurdles, securing qualification for the state meet. Unfortunately, an injury prevented her from competing in the state meet. Nevertheless, she had been one of the top performers in the state before her injury and is currently undergoing rehabilitation for the upcoming season.
Overall, Coach Justin Ta and his team had a successful season, with notable achievements and strong performances.
