Jags beat the Hawks in a Squeaker

It came down to the last second, but the Jags extended their five-game winning streak with a win over the Cabrillo Hawks, 72-69.
Jacob Harper led all scorers with 20 points, four 3's, six rebounds, and four assists. Jurrien Sparks added 15 points, six rebounds, and one steal as the Jags (21-4, 8-1 Coast-South) beat the Hawks (11-13, 3-6) to extend their 5-game winning streak.
The Jags were up by 11 at the end of the first half, but the Hawks closed in on the Jags in the second half.
With 1:13 remaining on the clock, the Jags were hit with a technical foul, and the Hawks made it a one-point game, 65-64. AB Gilchrist made an open baseline jump shot to up the lead by 3 with 46.5 seconds remaining.
A jump ball was called with 20.2 seconds, and the possession arrow was to the Jags. Mison Colton was immediately fouled and made the first free throw but missed the second. The Hawks grabbed the rebound and made a driving layup with 11.7 seconds left to narrow the score to 68-66.
Harper is fouled and hits two clutch free throws to extend the lead. The Hawks made a desperation three-pointer to cut the lead to one with 05.3 seconds remaining.
Jordan Gill was intentionally fouled and missed both free throws. However, a scramble for the ball resulted in the Jags retaining possession.
Gilchrist was fouled with 00.7 seconds. He calmly sank both free throws, sealing the win for the Jags. He ended the night with a solid 14 points, two 3-pointers, three rebounds, four assists, and two steals.
