Coach Scott Evans leads San Jose City College’s Cross Country and Distance Running program. Coach Evans brings over 30+ impressive years of coaching middle distance and distance runners in the Bay Area to SJCC. Under his guidance, SJCC is poised to develop one of the best junior college distance running programs in the nation. Coach Evans’ coaching philosophy is grounded in the use of Track & Field (specifically, distance running) as a vehicle to teach his students the valuable life lessons of personal accountability, responsibility, and leadership. His powerful results speak for themselves.

Before SJCC, Coach Evans has been one of the most successful middle and long distance coaches in the CCS. He has coached at Bay Area high schools such as Del Mar High, Menlo High, Valley Christian High, and Leigh High. Coach Evans’ impressive program has produced many League, CCS, California State, All-Americans, World Championship team members, and National Champions in the middle distances.

Coach Evans graduated from West Valley College and attended UCLA.
