SJCC Track & Field team advances all 6 competing athletes.
San Jose City College's Track and Field team advances all 6 of our competing athletes yesterday at the Nor Cal Trials in Modesto Junior College in Modesto.
Sprinter Joemar Belina ran a new, wind legal personal best of 10.79 seconds in the 100 meters, barely missing advancing in the 100m by only .01 second! However, Joemar qualified to advance in the long jump with a mark of 22 feet and 1 1/2 inches, and will continue to aim for new personal bests.
Alan Ibarra missed advancing in the hammer throw, but qualified to advance in the discus with a throw of 131 feet and 3 inches. In the men's middle distances, Kyler Spindola advanced in the 800 meters with a time of 1:57.96.
Our women's team continued to produce excellent performances. Hammer thrower Angela Ruiz advanced with a throw of 135 feet and 3 inches. Jaziah Lawson (high jump) and Felicity Tomisaka (steeple chase) also advanced to next week's Nor Cal Finals in their respective events.
The Nor Cal Finals will be held next Friday, May 10, 2019 at Modesto Junior College in Modesto, CA.
