The Lady Jaguars are headed to Round 2 of Regionals
The Lady Jaguars head to Round 2 of Regionals.
Lady Jags win first game with a final score of 2-0 in a best of three series with Feather River. Stefanie Troja pitched the complete game recording her 19th win with a shut-out. She struck out six batters, walked one and allowed three hits.
The Jags scored one run in the first inning as Kayla Rooney singled to right field then Freddie Carrillo hit a double to score Rooney.
The second run came in the third inning as Keelin Spencer started the inning with a solo homerun over left field fence. The Jags had eight hits with Carrillo and Haile Landrum leading the way with two hits each. Stellar defense held the Feather River to no runs.
Jaguars take game 2 of Regional play by a score of 13-0 in 5 innings.
It was an excellent team effort by all as each player contributed to the win.
Maddie Gallagher pitched the complete game for her 17th win of the season in a shut out fashion. She struck out six batters, hit one batter and allowed three hits.
Not only did Maddie do well on the mound, she led the Jags on offense with three hits, one of which was a two run home run. She had five RBIs, walked and scored two runs. Freddie Carrillo had three hits of which two where doubles, three RBIs and scored three runs. Keelin Spencer and Zylee Augenstein each had two hits with Spencer scoring two runs and Augenstein knocking in two runs. Kayla Rooney reached base four times with three walks and a hit, scored four runs for the Jags. The offense produced fifteen hits and scored thirteen runs.
The Lady Jags played errorless defense and both Natasha Sachdeva and Kaylani Diaz work well behind the plate leading the team.
Next up the Jaguars will host Reedley College May 10th and 11th. Games times are as followed.
Friday May 10th at 2:00PM, Saturday May 11th first game scheduled for 12:00PM and an if necessary game at 2:00PM!
